Food Safety for Drivers
According to the CDC, 1 in 6 Americans get sick from contaminated foods each year. Of these 48 million people, 128,000 are hospitalized and 3000 die. In addition, complications from food poisoning can cause lifelong chronic diseases like arthritis and kidney failure. The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was created to proactively ensure that the food supply throughout the United States is protected from contamination. As a driver, following best practices in handling and transporting food will help you comply with FSMA regulations.
